Abstract

Modern Urdu travel writing has evolved from a simple record of journeys into a rich literary genre that combines observation, reflection, cultural interpretation, and aesthetic expression. Contemporary travelogues not only describe places and landscapes but also explore diverse civilizations, social values, historical consciousness, environmental concerns, and the psychological experiences of the traveler. It examines how travel writers employ descriptive narration, dialogue, symbolism, humor, autobiographical elements, and comparative perspectives to create engaging and meaningful narratives. The research further highlights the influence of globalization, technological advancement, and intercultural interaction on the themes and narrative techniques of contemporary travel writing. By analyzing selected modern Urdu travelogues through descriptive and analytical methods, the study demonstrates that present-day travel literature serves as a significant medium for promoting cultural understanding, intellectual inquiry, and literary innovation.
