Some important types of Simile in the Indian Film Poetry

TASHBEEH (Simile) is one of the most important and common parts of ILM-E-BAYAN. A poet
often uses the path of simile when he wants to praise something or somebody. Many types of
similes (TASHBEEH) are used in Indian film’s Urdu songs. Although these similes
(TASHBEEHAAT) are not beyond the traditional Urdu poetry some of the most important types
of similes are easily be found in the Urdu poetry of Indian films. Moreover, these songs are a good
source to understand and elaborate on the different types of TASHBEEH (Simile), because of their
simplicity. This short article comprises some of the important types of similes and their usage in
Indian film’s Urdu songs
